Over the past three years of my entrepreneurial journey in Taiwan, I have gained many valuable experiences and lessons, while also facing challenges brought about by cultural differences. Looking back, this journey has been both a test of my personal will and abilities, and a rich opportunity for growth.
When I first came to Taiwan, I was full of enthusiasm, naively thinking that I could simply replicate the success I had in Hong Kong. However, I soon realized that things were far more complicated. Cultural differences, language barriers, and the unique market environment gave me quite a few difficulties. In particular, I was used to the "fast money" approach in Hong Kong, but in Taiwan, this strategy did not work. Instead, I had to put much more effort into product quality to earn the trust of local customers.
My first few clients were introduced by Taiwanese friends. I even chose to create websites for them for free, just to build local case studies, which is crucial for a new company entering the market. Every new order was hard-earned, making me deeply understand the meaning of "every grain is hard-earned." However, it was through this step-by-step accumulation that I gradually established my footing in Taiwan.
Another significant turning point in my business was managing a YouTube channel. I discovered that it was not only a platform to share my life but also an effective low-cost way to promote my business. Although my channel’s subscriber count and views were initially low, over time, it began to bring stable exposure to the company, greatly reducing our advertising expenses. Moreover, the channel’s influence gradually attracted media attention, leading to opportunities for media interviews, further enhancing the company’s visibility in the market. This experience made me deeply realize the importance of digital media in modern business and made me cherish every opportunity to interact with my audience even more.
In addition to my business efforts, living in Taiwan has given me many new life experiences. After overcoming the language barrier, my wife and I have settled down in this land and even bought a home of our own. This sense of stability has allowed me to devote myself more fully to my work and has made me feel the warmth and inclusiveness of Taiwan.
I have always believed that entrepreneurship is not just about making money; it is also about realizing self-worth and dreams. During this process, I am grateful for the blessings from above, which have given me the opportunity to start afresh in Taiwan. I am also thankful to my family, friends, and every customer who has supported me. Because of your support, I have been able to persist on this entrepreneurial path.
In the days to come, I will continue to work hard with a grateful heart, striving to make my business even better. At the same time, I will continue to cherish every relationship around me because I know that it is with these people and their support that I have come this far. I sincerely thank everyone who has helped me on this journey, thank you, Taiwan, and thank you, Heaven. May we all be healthy and content, with an even brighter future ahead.
