After the investment plan was approved, the usual procedure is to come to Taiwan to establish a company, open a bank account, and undergo identity verification. However, due to the pandemic, we couldn’t come to Taiwan. Finally, we invited a Taiwanese friend to invest in my company and asked him to help me open a company bank account in Taiwan. Later, I will transfer 6 million New Taiwan Dollars from Hong Kong to the Taiwan account and then wait for the Investment Commission to verify the funds.
At the same time, we need to prepare our citizen certificates, health examination reports, and marriage certificates. Then we need to go to the 40th floor of the Li Pao Center to verify the documents. Due to the two-month appointment requirement for document verification and the three-month validity of the documents, careful timing is crucial. One small mistake could undo all the progress made.
On the other hand, our Taiwanese immigration consultants have prepared the residency permit application for us.
After waiting for over two months, we finally could go to the 40th floor of Li Pao Center to verify the documents. A few days later, we obtained the documents and proceeded to the 14th floor to submit the residency permit application and related documents. Then it was a waiting game for approval.
A little over ten days later, we finally received a copy of the residency permit. We were ready to go.
